Another thing is that the Nostromo modifier keys work with Nostromo's other keys meaning that if you have "F" assigne to a Nostromo key, you can do "Command + F". You can use the mod keys though along with the mouse. But that is OK cause the whole point here is to completely loose (or almost) the traditional Keyboard. It is true, Nostromo won't enable you to press a modifier key in conjunction with a key on the traditional keyboard for example Command + F (Command being on the Nostromo and F being on the keyboard). By stretching my index a bit to the right and upwards I find it by instict, as with the pinky button, all my other fingers access quite well the other buttons who now hold new fonctions. My second layer switch key is the first starting from the right on the second row. While I hold that key with my pinky, all the other keys switch to second level comand. So, I chose the first key frome the left on the bottom row (the one under my pinky) to be a layer switch button. Your pinky is a good choice cause if it is pressing the layer switch key, the rest of your fingers ar available for pressing any other keys. Choose a key that enables your hand to access well other bottuns. You have to choose keys that wil change layer. Remember that Nostromo has four virtual layers of assignements meanig each key can have four different actions depending on what layer you are on. Then, the rest is just being intelligent and assingnig the keys you use the most in the propper places. The thumb pad becomes the space bar, and here you go! Comfy isn't it? If you have long fingers and feel a bit cramped, just do the same but starting from the second row. Just like on a conventional keyboard, the shift key should be on the second row right on top of the controle key. The first one from right (under your index) should be command, next one should be alt, and third should be controle. You want to reproduce the same hand position as with normal keyboard operation.
